How do I reduce vandalism or theft of my figures?

We recommend that the figures be tied down or secured in some way after they are put in place in the Nativity scene. The taller figures can be attached to pegs or pieces of steel rebar hammered into the ground to reduce the possibility of breakage from tipping over as a result of wind, uneven ground or vandalism. The figures may be tied to the post with wire, or nylon line. The smaller figures may also be attached to pegs with clear fishing line to reduce vandalism and theft. Sand bags may also be used to hold down and stabilize the bases of taller figures. If you are showing figures in a wood stable, you can attach the pieces to the floor. We do not recommend driving a screw into the figure, even on the bottom as this may cause the resin to crack and/or the paint to chip.
